David Knight Legg Steps Down as CEO of Invest Alberta Corporation

Yesterday, the Government of Alberta announced that David Knight Legg will be stepping down as CEO after less than a year in the role, in order to spend more time with family who are based in Singapore.

Greg Baker, Vice-President of International Markets, will serve as interim CEO as the board begins the process of finding a new CEO.

Mr. Legg was a key advisor to Premier Kenney, overseeing the transition team following the UCP win of the 2019 election, then serving as a key advisor in the Premier’s office before being appointed Invest Alberta’s first CEO.

Invest Alberta was created in July 2020, through legislation, with the mandate of attracting investment to Alberta’s energy, tourism and agriculture sectors, as well as growing industries like technology and innovation, aviation and aerospace.
