As Senior Strategy Advisor, Theo Bryson applies his experience and expertise in government, agriculture and farming to provide strategic policy analysis and insights, government and stakeholder relations and market intelligence advice to the agriculture/agri-business, municipal, natural resource and other sectors.
Theo was born and raised on the family farm near Torquay, Saskatchewan and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Regina.
Prior to joining Prairie Sky, Theo served in a variety of roles within the Saskatchewan government and through this experience, brings with him knowledge, insights and a vast network of connections through his experience in stakeholder relations, regulatory management, issues management and communications. As well, Theo also brings with him over 15 years of experience as an active farmer and understands the unique challenges, opportunities and realities of the industry.
Most recently, Theo was the Director of Livestock Development for the Ministry of Agriculture, leading a high performing team that promoted sustainable growth within the industry. Theo is passionate about healthy workplace culture and served on the Ministry’s High Performance Committee. This Committee was tasked with ensuring employees were equipped with the right tools to excel in their jobs, which included assessing the educational needs of the organization and planning leadership conferences.
In addition to Theo’s extensive ag sector experience, he also has experience working within the Ministry of Environment with client support services and the Water Security Agency in the planning and business improvement department. One of the highlights in his career was being on the communications team in the response to the Husky oil spill in 2015.
Theo has served on various boards throughout his career including; Saskatchewan Verified Beef Plus, Livestock Services of Saskatchewan, and the Saskatchewan Party Board. Theo also served on various agricultural research, funding, and program development committees. Theo currently serves on the board for the Saskatchewan Association of Licensed Practical Nurses.
When Theo is not in the office (tractor included) he enjoys the outdoors, hiking around the world, and hunts pheasants every fall. Theo shares his time between Regina and Estevan where his farm is located.
