JEFF STERZUK

President/CEO

Jeff Sterzuk was born and raised in small-town Saskatchewan.  He has been involved in politics, government, public policy and public affairs for over 40 years starting with a degree in Public Administration from the University of Saskatchewan in 1989.

Following university, Jeff’s first role was as a policy advisor to the Minister of Trade and Investment, the Minister of Justice/Attorney General and the Minister of Parks and Renewable Resources in the Saskatchewan government.  Following his time in government, Jeff spent the next 15 years working in the financial services sector where he had progressively senior leadership roles in Saskatchewan, BC and eventually Alberta where he moved in 2003.  After five years leading an educational organization, Jeff founded Prairie Sky Strategy in 2013.

Over Jeff’s political career, he has worked with and supported prime ministers, premiers, political leaders, cabinet ministers, senior department officials and key policymakers to move complex issues through various decision-making processes (both inside and outside of government). Jeff has served on several leadership campaigns (both provincially and federally) and served on and led campaigns for federal and provincial candidates.   In addition, he has held numerous constituency roles and through this experience has developed an understanding of politics and government in western Canada and built a robust network of political connections across the country.

Since founding Prairie Sky in 2013, Jeff has worked to build a team of talented, experienced advisors and staff across Western Canada and Ottawa that work every day to support clients across the country and around the world.

In addition to his employment and political involvement, Jeff has served on several private, crown and not for profit boards.  For nine years he served on the board of Saskatchewan Government Insurance where he chaired the Investment Committee that oversaw the governance and management of over $3 Billion in investments.

Community involvement and volunteerism have always been important to Jeff.  He has led fundraising efforts for non-profits including Impact Society, the Abbotsford Community Foundation, Chilliwack Big Brothers and Big Sisters, and the United Way of Regina among other organizations. Jeff currently serves on the board of Hull Services and has also served on other boards including the Calgary Youth Justice Society, Surgical Centres, Impact Society, the Abbotsford Executive Association and the Abbotsford and Regina Symphony Orchestras.

Jeff has a Chartered Director designation from the Directors’ School – a partnership between the Conference Board of Canada and McMaster University.

Jeff lives in Calgary, Alberta and enjoys spending time with his family & friends, and running, golfing in both the mountains and … of course, the prairies.
