WHITNEY ISSIK

Senior Strategy Advisor

Whitney Issik is an experienced political and business leader. Most recently, she concluded a term as a Member of the Legislative Assembly for Calgary-Glenmore. First elected in 2019, over her four years in government she served as Chief Whip, Associate Minister for the Status of Women, and the Minister of Environment and Parks.

A born and raised Calgarian, Whitney studied economics and political science earning a bachelor’s degree from the University of Calgary. Following graduation, she opened a small retail business that she still co owns with her husband in downtown Calgary. She also has background in corporate Calgary with over a decade of work in the telecom, oil and gas and renewable energy sectors.

Before elected office, Whitney was a highly sought-after political strategist and policy expert in conservative circles, having worked on a series of provincial and federal campaigns. She was named National Policy Co-Chair for the federal Progressive Conservative Party in the early 2000s.

As a tireless volunteer, she has served in many leadership roles related to building and rebuilding community and local sports organizations. Whitney has a lifelong love for the game of football. She played for the Calgary Rage in the Western Women’s Canadian Football League, an experience which helped reinforce for her the value of personal discipline and teamwork.
