Stacie Lara is an investment and energy leader recognized for advancing sustainable growth through strategic partnerships between business and government. With extensive experience in international trade, investment, and business development, she has supported more than 100 companies realize global investment and expansion.

As Director of Investment, Energy at Invest Alberta, Stacie served a key role in increasing business investment into the province’s energy sector.  She provided tailored support aligned with investor needs, and served as a critical connector between government and industry, translating government policy into clear, actionable investment opportunities.

Previously, Stacie represented the British Government in Canada, where she led investment attraction from Canada into the United Kingdom’s energy sector. Her career also included roles with a non-profit economic development organization, a global business accelerator in Panama, and integrated energy company, Suncor Energy, giving her a broad, practical perspective across the public, private, and non-profit sectors.

Stacie holds a Bachelor of Commerce with Distinction and a Minor in Spanish from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business, with additional studies at the Tecnológico de Monterrey in Mexico. She has also completed intensive Spanish language training in Spain and Panama.

In 2023, she was named a Fellow at the Energy Futures Lab and continues to serve as an Ambassador, supporting the organization’s collaborative approach to addressing complex energy and sustainability challenges.
