Ken Veldman is a seasoned leader with over 30 years of experience in  leadership roles in trade, transportation, investment attraction, and economic development across British Columbia.   His career has been deeply rooted in communities throughout the north and interior of the province, where he’s developed a profound understanding  of British Columbia’s diverse and complex tapestry of interests.

For the the past 14 years, Ken served in senior leadership roles  at the Prince Rupert Port Authority, overseeing government affairs, indigenous and community relations, corporate communications, and environmental planning and sustainability. His work was instrumental in advancing major Canadian trade infrastructure projects in one of the country’s most culturally and ecologically sensitive regions, while successfully navigating a complex regulatory landscape while building trust across stakeholders.

Ken’s track record of aligning broad arrays of interests, building lasting partnerships and trust, and charting a steady course through volatile environments, combined with his strategic insight and collaborative approach, is a valuable resource for organizations tackling complex challenges.  

Born and raised in BC, Ken continues to call beautiful Prince Rupert home.  He earned a degree in Finance and Economics from Simon Fraser University, and remains actively involved in many professional and industry associations. 

Outside of work, Ken and his family are passionate about sports and recreation, including travelling near and far to watch and participate in all manner of activities and events.  He also plays a slow and steady role as a “stay-at-home” defenseman for the Wheelhouse Whalers oldtimers hockey team.
