Experience:

COLLEEN POTTER

Senior Strategy Advisor

Colleen is a public affairs leader with extensive expertise in building relationships and influencing diverse groups of people. She has a passion for helping clients understand what matters and why, thanks to her 20 years of experience in industry, non-profit, and political environments. Her specialty is bridging the gap between strategic planning and tactical execution.

Born and raised in Calgary, Colleen started her career in provincial politics before working in the oil and gas sector. In 2008, she moved to Vancouver to work on the 2010 Olympics. Following that, she became involved with helping non-profits focused on serving vulnerable populations, building capacity for community outreach, and engagement with government. In this area, she has worked in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, and upon moving back to Calgary in 2012, for Inn from the Cold and the City of Calgary.

In 2015, Colleen returned to politics, serving as Director of Community Relations for her local Member of Parliament. Following that, she spent four years working in the Canadian energy sector for one of the largest industry advocacy campaigns in Canada. She also served on the Executive Committee for the Global Energy Show from 2019 to 2022. As a Senior Strategy Advisor with Prairie Sky, Colleen helps clients determine what they need to do to succeed, and the most effective way to get there.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from the University of Calgary and serves on the boards of Closer to Home Community Services and The Public Affairs Association of Canada (PAAC) – Alberta Chapter, as well as the Innovation Community of Interest committee for the NATO Industrial Advisory Group (NIAG). Colleen is also a classically trained singer and a member of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra Chorus.
