Marketing And Research Analyst (Student Summer Term)

Prairie Sky Strategy is a growing strategy, public-affairs, stakeholder relations, business development and management consulting firm operating in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario (  

We work within a variety of sectors including energy, electricity, mining, financial, health-care, real estate, post-secondary and others to help them develop and implement strategy for sustainable growth in Western Canada and beyond.  Prairie Sky Strategy is an exciting and growing organization that is looking for a post-secondary student to fill a temporary, full time position to help us with various marketing and research related tasks.   

The ideal person for this job is a self-starter who is passionate about business, public policy and the prairies. In this role you will help Prairie Sky develop and implement marketing initiatives, research government legislation and policy, prepare briefing notes and engage with both internal and external stakeholders.  

Skills & Competencies 

  • Enrolled in political science, public administration, public policy, business or related course of study and have an interest in business and public policy. 
  • Skilled and comfortable with research  and have strong professional communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Understand the importance of and can maintain discretion and confidentiality. 
  • Understand and are comfortable with Prairie Sky’s core values, the importance of honesty and integrity and live by this every day. 
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills. 
  • Knowledge of Western Canadian business, economic and government issues and opportunities.  
  • Comfortable with MS Outlook/Office 365 as well as adaptable to learning new technology.   
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.  
  • Reliable, approachable and demonstrates professionalism. 
  • Resourcefulness to make things happen and the intuition/confidence to know when something needs to be fixed or said. 
  • Ability to manage time and workspace.  
  • Stays up to date with current affairs.    

We’re also looking for someone with a sense of humour, who understands the importance of work-life balance and working as part of a team.   

This is a temporary, full-time position working remotely in either Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba from early May to the end of August 2021.
